Legislative Analyst's Office
The Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO) provides independent, nonpartisan analysis, research, and advice to the Legislature on fiscal and policy issues. A library of LAO publications, including selected handouts from hearings, reports, and the annual Analysis of the Budget Bill can be accessed on its website.

Senate Office of Research

The Senate Office of Research is charged with tracking emerging state and federal issues, identifying evolving trends and exploring and creating new ideas in public-policy arenas. A wide variety of publications are available at the SOR website.
